Skylar's skin color, even though she spends a lot of time outdoors and in the sun, is a pretty unhealthy-looking color, and nobody's quite sure why. She's joked that it's a skin disorder, but given the amount of time that has passed since she first became part of the Elite Four, where her skin color was pretty much also the same color, more and more people are convinced that her joke might not be too far from the truth. Nonetheless, Skylar herself is so lively and active that the media has given up on wondering if she's secretly ill or not.
She tends to wear light, pastel colors, often light blue, which appears to be her favorite color. Overall, she very rarely wears anything that is dark or subdued; some Lualdi media has joked that Skylar would show up to a funeral dressed in bright cheery colors because she has nothing else in her wardrobe. Because Skylar is so frequently on the move and just likes to be actively engaged in doing things, she usually wears tank tops and shorts, and her long hair is often messy and windswept-looking.
Skylar came from humble beginnings, but she is anything but humble. Unafraid to talk about how powerful of a Pokémon trainer she is or about the perks her position gives her, she'll launch into long soliloquies about brutalizing apart weaker trainers who thought the Elite Four would be an easy ride. She's very talkative, especially when it comes to herself or her job, but Skylar also has a lot to say about other people. However, she'll tune people out or change the topic if they start talking about something she isn't interested in; Skylar is a great listener so long as the topic interests her, but if she's bored, she won't hesitate to make it known.
Though she's overwhelmingly prideful, Skylar actually doesn't get offended when people insult her; she just takes it as a mark of audacity from the other person and actually is prone to respecting people who have "enough guts" to stand up to her. She's willing to laugh at herself or look silly, and overall is just concerned with having fun with life more than anything else. Even in battles, she'll act hot-blooded, dramatic and theatrical -- not necessarily because she's taking it seriously, but just because she gets caught up in the moment and it's more fun to let the thrill of battle overtake you.
